Gerrit Cole has now won nine straight outings after another beautiful performance Thursday night in a 7-1 Astros win over the Indians. Cole threw seven innings, giving up four hits, one earned run while striking out four. He leads the MLB in strikeouts with 216 Ks.
Michael Brantley, Alex Bregman and Yordan Alvarez all drove in two runs, respectively with Bregman hitting a solo home run on a 3-3 night. George Springer led off the game with his MLB leading 8th leadoff homer. Yuli Gurriel lost his 18 game hitting streaking with an 0-4 night and Jose Altuve added two more hits to his hot bat.
Houston will return home Friday to open up a series against the Seattle Mariners. Wade Miley takes the mound in game one of the series.
